Account and Characters

Once you register your account, you will be asked to chose a class. Based on this, the first time that you log in you will have two fully equipped, leveled, and skilled characters to play with. This means you do not have to level yourself! In addition, there will be Dragon Coins added to your account, so you can also benefit from the Item Shop items. Since this is a testserver, the Payment option is blended out, so there is no possibility to purchase more Dragon Coins.
After the server closes, there will be a charwipe, the testserver is only open for limited time!

My Metin2 won't start

Most problems are solved with running Metin2 with administrator permissions for Windows Vista and XP. You can do this by right clicking on the Metin2 shortcut on your desktop, and selecting 'Run as.. '. If that does not work, open the folder of Metin2, and right click on 'metin2.exe' and chose 'Run as..'. Make sure you have enough rights on your profile to run programmes as an administrator!
Another common problem is that Antivirus or Firewalls are blocking Metin2, make sure they are in the whitelist of these programmes, or deactivate them.

Hackshield

The Hackshield checks if the client that is running has all files necessary, and is not altered in any way. The first time you run the client you will be asked to accept the Hackshield, if you decline this, you cannot start the game! Furthermore the Hackshield checks if there are no programmes running that could be used as an automation in the game. If there are programmes running that are acting in this way, Hackshield will automatically shut down the client.
Most of the problems with Hackshield can be solved by running Metin2 with administrator rights (see above).Other problems can be solved by updating the client to the latest version, which is done by running the game from the desktop, or alternatively going to your Metin2 folder, and starting the 'PatchUpdater.exe'.
If the problems still persist, please visit our Forum or our ticketsystem for help.
Although we are testing the Hackshield, we do not encourage people to use hacks on the server. We are more interested in the problems that might occur with other programmes that you use daily: like msn, skype or icq. Please give us feedback about that on our Forum.

Offence

The Panama server does not abide by the normal gamerules of Metin2. This means that there is no ingame support from GM's. In the case of highly abusive language or otherwise abusive behaviour from a player, you can send a screenshot or the name of the player to our support team under http://support.metin2.co.uk
Please note that although there is no constant ingame supervision, any offences that are noted will result in exclusion from the server, and in severe cases have consequences for your accounts on other Gameforge servers. Remember that this a testserver, and is not intended for normal gameplay, but for testing purposes.

Problems with Torrent

Metin2 is distributed via a peer2peer system, which makes it faster and easier to distribute big patches and updates.
As with the Hackshield and starting the client, please make sure that you are running it with administrator rights, and that there is no firewall or antivirus blocking it. Metin2 Torrent uses the standard torrentports, so it should not be blocked by standard routers. There are cases known where the routers do not like the amount of data being sent and received by the torrent, despite the internet connection, and therefore the torrent updates very slowely. Make sure to check the settings of your router as well.

Special Conditions
